In the beginning....

This blog was born in a cafe shop over cake after attending a blended learning conference. Now, I love attending conferences. I have such high expectations and always post conference I'm just a little disappointed. The problem with most conferences is that there are too many people interested in presentating the theory behind it all rather than showing things in practice. Then there are the people who just have it plain wrong and this is where the title of this blog comes from....

As background, the reason I love conferences so much comes from my years of working in a foreign country in an environment where I was the only foreigner teaching in my field. I looked forward to attending conferences where I could see what other people were doing and more importantly talk ideas with. Luckily, in that environment everyone felt the same way and conferences where useful. Recently, conferences in my own country seem different and not as useful.

If I have to attend another presentation about podcasting that just ends up being about a someone recording their lectures and putting them into Blackboard I think my head just might explode.......
